8 Seward/Alyeska
Spend the morning in Seward with lunch onboard your ship included. You can just relax onboard or take advantage of the shopping in town and the sightseeing on Resurrection Bay. Meet your Tour Director and board your luxury motor coach for the scenic drive through the Kenai Mountains to the renowned Alyeska Resort. Arrive in time to explore your surroundings and enjoy your hotel.
9 Alyeska Resort
Enjoy your EXTRA DAY relaxing and exploring in and around your lavish Chateau-style hotel. Take the tram to the top of Mt. Alyeska for enjoying a relaxing hike and opt for lunch or dinner at the 4-Diamond Seven Glaciers restaurant. Optional tours are available for everything from kayaking in beautiful Prince William Sound to running the rapids of Sixmile Creek.
10 Alyeska / Anchorage
Drive past the tiny but charming town of Girdwood on your way to the Seward Highway. Continue on along this National Scenic Byway stopping for a scenic one-hour cruise to Portage Glacier aboard our exclusive mv Ptarmigan . Then continue along Turnagain Arm past Potter's Marsh and on into Anchorage enjoying mountain and ocean views in every direction.
11 Anchorage/Denali National Park
Today you'll board the McKinley Explorer, the largest domed railcars on the historic Alaska Railroad route, an Alaska Scenic Byway. Sit back and relax in the observation lounge and watch magnificent scenery glide by. Watch for waterfalls, search for wildlife in forests of birch, aspen and fir, and marvel at mountains stretching out in all directions. Upon arrival at Denali National Park, transfer to the finest lodge at the park where your comfortable room awaits. Unpack and set off to explore. There's so much to see and do. Grab a take-out sandwich at the Sugarloaf Coffee Corner and head off on a rental bike for a ride to Horseshoe Lake. Organized flightseeing, horseback riding and golfing tours are another option. And don't miss the rollicking musical at the Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre.
12 Denali
Craft your own Denali experience during your EXTRA DAY of unscheduled time. Relax at your lodge, and then hike to Horseshoe Lake. Take a shuttle to the fabulous new Denali Visitor Center and join a Park-Ranger hike from there. Opt for touring via helicopter, jet boat, mountain bike or river raft. Meet dog mushers, homesteaders and trappers to see what life is like in the bush. There's so much to see and do and the long daylight hours make it possible to explore more than you ever dreamed possible.
13 Denali National Park / Fairbanks
Depart your lodge for an official early morning Tundra Wilderness Tour of Denali National Park. You'll travel up to 53 miles of the Park Road for great wildlife viewing - caribou, moose, grizzly, wolves and Dall's sheep are frequently sighted. Weather permitting, your vistas of Mt. McKinley will be unsurpassed. Later, re-board the McKinley Explorer, and sit back to relax in the observation lounge and watch magnificent scenery glide by. Arrive in Fairbanks this evening and transfer to your downtown hotel and say "good-bye" to your Tour Director.
